Absolutely gorgeous meal, It was the nicest meal we have all had in ages. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be going again very soon. - Lisa (22/06/13)

I have been to this restaurant twice in one week and I live 100 miles away! I went for lunch on a Friday and the atmosphere through the day was wonderful. People were milling around outside; lots of chatter in the restaurant and the food and service were lovely. Went again the following Friday for dinner. The food, service and atmosphere were again excellent. There was a band playing - Dominic Halpin and the Honey B's and it just completed the night. It was perfect; loved it and will definitely be back :)

"The best meal in Manchester by far!"
Dined here with two friends and we all agreed it was the best restaurant meal we had had for a long time. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the Tuna Carpaccio it was so fresh and delicious, followed by the Hake also excellent. I shared the trio of desserts with my friend but I wanted them all they were so lip smackingly tasty. The service was friendly and efficient - perfect. We sat near the window, which was great for people watching. We all agreed we will definetly be back . A wonderful dining experience in every way. We could not fault it. - Carol M, Bolton (18/08/13)

"Definately worth a visit if u are staying in manchester"
We stayed in manchester for the wkend & neither of us had been for years so had no clue where to eat in the saturday night. A guide book in our hotel mentioned 47 so we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed .... the food was gorgeous, in fact one of the nicest main courses ive ever had (i had the lamb), the service was v polite & courteous without being 'stuffy', its not cheap but invaribly u get what u pay for ...definitely worth a visit! - Julie T (15/08/13)

A lovely light and airy restaurant with good food and good service. The menu was varied and very good value for money with a range of choices to suit all. Special dietary needs were no problem at all. The atmosphere was very pleasant and all in all a very good choice. - Maz K

Great experience, Friday nights include live entertainment, with a different artist each week. The four of us were able to hear ourselves talk, whilst still enjoying the Singer. The menu had some great variety and satisfied everyones tastes. One of the party said the Baked Hake was the best food she had ever eaten ! The food wasn't just good it was excellent. Service was timely and not rushed and the whole ambience of the venue was just perfect - much better than waiting an hour for a prebooked table at San Carlos (opposite this restaurant) and then being rushed to finish. - Andrew

We have had Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at 47 - The food has been superb no matter what time of day. We live in the centre of Manchester with access to many restaurants, but 47 is our favourite! - Michael & Maureen (Central Manchester)

Treated ourselves to champagne afternoon tea here and what a treat! Beautiful Blue Lady tea and gorgeous cakes. Later visited the Ritz (London) but the tea and cakes didn't compare and there were no strawberries with the champers! Excellent - we'll be back.

I visit 47 King Street West every time I visit Manchester and have never been disappointed. The breakfasts are nice and the porridge comes with lots of fresh fruit – Astley (Middlesborough)

We ate here at the weekend and so glad we choose this restaurant. The menu may not be very extensive but there's still a very good selection and all of it is done to perfection. There was ten of us in the group so between us all we had pretty much the whole menu and none of us were disappointed. The drinks menu is also very good, especially the cocktails. The service was excellent, the staff are very attentive and very accommodating. We couldn't leave a tip big enough! – George D (Manchester)

I organised our department Christmas lunch at 47 King Street West and I was so pleased I did. This is the first time I have dined there and the service, atmosphere and most importantly the food were all excellent I could not fault any of it. The staff were attentive, all our courses arrived at the same time and were of a very high standard which is something that can't always be said for restaurants during the busy Christmas period. I would highly recommend 47 KSW and I will most definitely be heading back there in the furture, in fact I can't wait until I go there again!!! - Claire (Manchester)

I have been to this place a few times now for cocktails and a couple of meals. I'm delighted to say that the service and quality of the food has never disappointed yet. It's great when you can recommend somewhere and every single person in the party tells you their food was lovely. They deserve to do really well. – Danielle B (Manchester)

From first contact enquiring about their availability, I found the service to be excellent. Barry and the team were helpful and very accommodating answering my queries and altering the numbers for the booking up to the same day of the event. The food was delicious, all three courses and served hot to the table with impeccable service and attention to all our guests needs. The whole experience was first class. I will definitely go back to the restaurant both on corporate and personal level – Paul (Manchester)

I, together with 2 friends, visited 47 King Street yesterday. This was our first visit. The staff were excellent, very friendly and courteous. The food was of a very high quality. We had a fabulous time and I will definitely be returning. We found the price of the food very reasonable and worth every penny. We had lunch but they were serving afternoon teas as well which looked great. If you haven't tried it yet, give it a go, well worth it – Dave P (Leigh)

The most delicious meal served in the centre of Manchester! Wow! An amazing meal was enjoyed by me and two other members of my family last Saturday night. We had made a reservation there the day before, and were extremely lucky to have secured a table as the restaurant was packed – Candise D (Manchester)

We visited 47 KSW for our Christmas party last weekend, with a party of 9 we had the Christmas menu which was a reasonable price. The food was excellent and the staff were extremely attentive making sure everybody had a drink at all times and everybody was happy with their food.We would certainly go back at the first opportunity – Debbie T (Manchester)

I recently booked in at 47KSW for the work Christmas do. The staff were amazing from start to finish and weren't overwhelmed by there being 27 of us (as many restaurants are). Great festive menu to pick from, amazing value for money, really tasty food and wine and lovely helpful staff. We couldn't have hoped for a nicer meal or a better atmosphere. Can't wait 'til next year!! – Hannah H (Manchester)

The food was excellent, the service exceptional and I will definatley dine here in future. A fabulous experience. – Sarah D (Manchester)

I went here for my birthday meal with friends on Saturday night and we all had a really lovely night. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very attentive and the reception when we arrived very welcoming and accommodating. Overall an excellent night! We will be back. –Nick (Liverpool)

My daughter and I had heard good things about this restaurant/bar and decided to try it on Thursday evening. This fabulous place get two huge ticks from both of us . We started with cocktails at the bar (strawberry mojito fab) and was impressed by both the service and the quality of the cocktails.. (no tacky gimmicks ) . The gentleman who showed us to our seats was really helpful and created an ambience of class coupled with a relaxed feel. The server was really knowledgable about the menu and helped me to choose what was probably the best halibut I've tasted. The menu is classy with something for everyone . We both really enjoyed it so much that I enquired about this Saturday evening as I wanted to take my husband .... Not surprisingly the restaurant was fully booked so we opted for what looks like a Sunday roast to die for. Not a negative in sight for us and we will be recommending this trendy new place in the heart of Manchester to everyone. – Kim S (Eccles)

Having heard about 47 King Street via foodie friends, my husband booked a table for four of us to enjoy my birthday meal (November 3rd). We had a wonderful evening - the food was the best I've had in Manchester this year; everything was cooked perfectly. The salmon tartare was fresh, light and zingy, my halibut was utterly delicious and melt-in-the-mouth succulent. The cheese course was scrummy and the wine list was excellent. My husband enjoyed partridge, followed by steak that was perfectly pink in the centre and portioned well. I can't fault the food one bit; the service was equally attentive without being intrusive, and we all enjoyed a very relaxed, happy evening that I felt compelled to repeat again recently (once again, fantastic) – Jenny M (Manchester)

What an excellent afternoon my colleagues and I had when we went for Christmas lunch. A very smart, chic restaurant where the food was of a very high quality and the range of choices from the set menu was by far one of the best I have encountered & I have been eating in Manchester restaurants for 30 years. Great atmosphere and very attentive service, the staff are a credit to the owner Barry. I'm not just going to 'recommend' this restaurant, I would implore you to pay them a visit. I would like to thank all the staff for making our annual Christmas lunch very memorable – Matt P (Hyde)

Great service, brilliant food and good atmosphere. Can get expensive if you order champagne! We had duck to start and fillet steak for mains (best I've ever had) and champs and sweets cost £128. Worth every penny – Steven B (Chester)

I just wanted to say what a fantastic Christmas party we had on 11 December 2012. There were 14 of us which can sometimes cause problems for some restaurants but not 47 King Street the service was excellent and the food was amazing. We will definitely be visiting again. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone – Hayley B (Manchester)

I have been going to 47 King Street West since it opened and have tried all times of the night and day! I have taken contacts in for breakfast meetings, had a light lunch with friends, business meetings over coffee, dinner and the very lovely cocktails with friends and family and can quite honestly say that the food is excellent - french bistro meets traditional english and the service is second to none. If you want some proper old fashioned charm and service coupled with excellent food and a sublime cocktail list this is the place to come
- Fran E (Manchester)

Visited this restaurant early Saturday evening after a shopping trip. They offer a set 3 course dinner with 6 choices, all of which I could have picked. I went for their take on a Christmas turkey dinner whilst my wife had sea bass. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and have nothing negative to say at all. Great service from all the staff as well. – Paul B (Manchester)

I chose this restaurant for dinner on Sat 17th Nov as a belated birthday get together for my daughter who recently turned 21 and my 'young at heart' but elderly mother, and it was a perfect choice. Chic and smart but with a lovely ambience that suited all of us. We walked in and were immediately greeted and offered our table or a drink at the bar. We chose to go to our table where the waiter took our coats, seated us and 'unfurled' our napkins. We ordered drinks which came immediately and then ordered food. We waited the right amount of time for them to prepare our well done steak, lamb and souffle (my mother was having a starter as a main). The mains were excellent and we all had clean plates. After an interlude we ordered desserts, which again were delicious. The staff were all very friendly, happy to take photos of our small party, ordered our taxi for us and helped us on with our coats. Bill of £99.00 for two mains, one starter, two sides, three desserts, soft drinks and a good bottle of Rose, was good value for money. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family visiting Manchester – Sheila B (Newcastle)

We went to the 47 on the recommendation of a friend and were both delighted with both the hospitality and friendliness shown by the staff and the high quality of the food. If you want an inch thick menu with dozens of choices this is not for you. If however its great produce well cooked in a nice friendly atmosphere this is the place to be. You can sit at your table watching the footballers, actors and wags going into San Carlo across the road, whilst eating in a wag free zone drinking great cocktails.I had fillet steak with Dianne sauce (not had that for years) and it was superb .I have recently returned from a trip to Texas and my steak whilst smaller than any I encountered in the lone star state had taste and quality exceeding anything stateside, my better half had Lamb and that was equally nice .I can recommend the 47 next time you are in Manchester – Simon R (Derbyshire)

Absolutely fabulous!!!! We arrived at 2:15 for lunch and as there were several people to meet from different areas it was probably about 3:30 when we finally decided to order! Absolutely no problem at all ....staff were lovely! Service was excellent and the food delicious! Will be back there most definitely! – Hillary G (Manchester)

We went here on a Sunday before a comedy show and were incredibly impressed. The Bellini was one of the best I have had outside of Italy. We were sat in a really comfortable booth and it was nice and warm as the weather was very cold and rainy outside. Our coats were hung up and this was a nice touch.

It was my birthday meal and the staff were very attentive and my dessert even had a sparkler in it.My husband had a sea food starter and loved it, for mains we had a roast dinner and I must say one of the best roasts I have ever had! The vegetables were delicious! Thank you to this great restaurant and we will be back soon! – Louise (Cheshire)

Our group of - eventually - more than ten must have caused pandemonium with massively late arrivals and general delays. But the staff never missed a beat, bringing superb food just when it was needed and being friendly and helpful throughout. The chef isn't the only one preparing great flavours here either, because the cocktails are sublime. We followed our visit with a trip to a new specialist cocktail bar nearby and were sadly disappointed in comparison. For the quality of food, drink and service we received we found the price to be an absolute bargain too. We will absolutely return. – Mr Jones (Stockport)

Great cocktails, mouth-watering food, good vegetarian selection and fabulous service! Will definitely come again, thanks Barry and co.
– Lisa (Wales)

Went with my husband and had a good old fashioned Sunday Roast but served in a modern, up to date restaurant. Decor is fabulous. This started out as a tea room but has developed into so much more and yet has retained the friendly approach of the staff and the management. Very hands on family business with a warm welcome to everyone – Sheila B (Bacup)

What Manchester has lacked for way too long.....47 is a quality Restaurant ticking all the boxes. The Food quality, menu selection, presentation and value is as good as it gets. The ambience and attention to detail in this stylish, welcoming Restaurant is of the highest quality. The management have taken great care to create a destination Restaurant – Philip W (Cheshire)
